Broader investment universe for two Fondita funds as of 16.8.2024

We at Fondita continuously work to improve and adapt our products as the world and the demand for investment options changes. Our primary goal is to always offer funds that are as interesting as possible for our clients and that have the capacity to deliver the best possible risk-adjusted returns in a sustainable manner within given asset classes, themes and geographic areas.

As of 16 August 2024, the following changes will therefore be made to our fund range:

Fondita Sustainable Europe will become Fondita Sustainable World and will have a global investment universe within environmentally and climate-smart companies.

Fondita European Small Cap will become Fondita Global Small Cap and will have a global investment universe within small cap companies.

In both cases, the funds will have a global investment universe from having previously focused only on Europe. With increased transparency and availability of company data, a wider range of global partners, as well as access to digital tools, it is possible to manage a larger investment universe, even as a local Finnish active manager. We have extensive experience with managing funds with a global focus within two of our existing funds, namely Fondita Global Megatrends (since 1998) and Fondita Healthcare (since 2018).

By expanding the investment universe, the number of companies to choose from is clearly greater, combined with better geographical risk spreading. The investment philosophy and strategy remain unchanged, but the options increase. As a fund company, we retain the focus on small companies and thematic funds, but the change gives us the opportunity in both Fondita Sustainable World and Fondita Global Small Cap to invest in interesting companies outside of Europe as well. The US, as the world’s largest economy, has historically generated clearly better returns than Europe. There are many indications that this development can continue, and we want to offer our clients the opportunity to take part in this as well. As we look towards the coming decades, we believe that these products, thanks to a wider investment universe, will become significantly more interesting for our clients.

The rules of the funds were confirmed 3.7.2024 in Finland and are valid as of 16.8.2024. Fondita Fund Management Company Ltd. is granted authorization to act as a fund management company in Finland. The funds and the fund management company are supervised by the Financial Supervision Authority.
