One of Fondita’s oldest funds, Fondita Nordic Small Cap, turned 27 years yesterday!

Fondita Nordic Small Cap, launched on September 10, 1997 turned 27 years yesterday. The fund is one of the first funds launched by Fondita Fund Management Company Ltd and also among the very first equity funds on the market focusing on Nordic small caps. Fondita Nordic Small Cap has delivered an average net return of over 10 % p.a. since launch, providing the very first investors with a total net return of over 1270 % since launch (as per 31.8.2024).*

Fondita has 27 years of experience in managing successful small cap equity funds. We were one of the first Finnish fund companies to launch a Nordic small cap fund, and today we manage one of the few global small cap funds domiciled in Finland. Today Fondita offers a wide range of equity funds within the small and micro cap space within various investment universes; Finland, Nordic, European and Global.

Fondita’s small and micro cap strategies have shown strong development recently, with the Nordic Small Cap and Fondita Finland Micro Cap standing out at the very top of their respective categories for 1 year returns.

At Fondita, we strongly believe that small caps offer a very interesting investment opportunity. Small caps have historically delivered higher returns compared to large caps. In this space we find companies with high growth rates and often with a long-term and entrepreneurial mindset. We focus on quality companies that show strong growth within a market or segment that benefits from strong underlying driving forces. Small cap companies are now especially attractive, the valuation gap between large caps and small caps is currently significant. The valuation gap is still exceptionally large despite the recovery that started last autumn.
